About two and a half years ago and on a day of no particular importance, I got into work early one morning. With a bit of time to kill, I fired up Adobe Illustrator CS3 and decided to draw something. The first thing that popped into my head was a tick and a cross icon. So, I spent around 5-10mins drawing a red cross and a green tick. They were quite basic icons, but effective. I uploaded the final drawing to iStockphoto and this icon set has been selling steadily ever since.
So steadily in fact that two and a half years later, I have hit the magic 500 sales mark. The illustration’s little yellowy-orange flame that indicates over 100 sales has now been upgrade to an orangey-red flame indicating the 500 downloads. This is super exciting.
I suppose the blatant use of keywords in the title description of the file has definitely helped make this drawing a success. Incidentally, if you goodle “Yes No icon” in google images – you may see my drawing hovers around the first three results you get back. A bit of trusty SEO certainly helps.
On that note, I’d just like to say thanks to everyone who has downloaded the image. Hope it did the trick nicely for you.
