Jewellery Design Class – Night Three

A night of fire, metal and more fire. Yes, I definitely had some fun.

This time we were taught the fundamental principles of creating silver rings.

We were all given a piece of silver. Mine was a little small, so I had to make a pinky ring. Which was ok because I currently don’t own a pinky ring.

Measuring, bending, cutting the edges to ensure they were perfectly aligned, then soldering. That was how it went. My soldering skills are a bit rusty, so I didn’t do too well there. Plus I used far too much fire and as a result I melted a bit of the silver off. I don’t mind too much. I can probably sand and polish it later. After all, it’s about having fun and learning
