Stay on top of the latest news and information with iGoogle and RSS

Here’s a little tip – If you’re short on time and can’t be bothered checking all of your favourite websites one by one for the latest news and information, this method will help you view a list of articles in your iGoogle page all at once. By doing this, you can find new and useful information that you like quickly and easily. When you see an article link in iGoogle, you can click the link and it takes you to the full article straight away. Now, when you find a website that you like that publishes updates on a regular basis (eg a blog), chances are they will have an RSS feed, usually located in the top right or sidebar of the page. When you click on the RSS icon, you will be redirected to a page that usually looks something like this:

RSS Feed
You will notice up the top there is a drop down menu. Select “Subscribe to this feed using Google” and hit the “Subscribe Now” button. You are then directed to a page that looks like this:

Add to Google Homepage
For the purposes of this quick tip, click “Add to Google Homepage” and Bingo!!! you will now find a new widget for the website you want to follow on your iGoogle page. The widget shows you a list of the three most recent articles or updates for that website. Here’s what it looks like

iGoogle and RSS helps you stay up to date with news and information
